ANCIENT EGYPTIAN MAKEUP LOOK

Tuesday, 28 June 2016

I love doing makeup and something I loveeee doing with makeup is creating different makeup looks. This is because it means you can look different every single day. One day you might decide to have really bright makeup which might make you look like a barbie and the next day you might decide to have a more natural look or a dark gothic look...it's so great you can literally change it up everyday.
For this look I decided to go for a more "Ancient Egyptian" goldi-sh look, so here it is:

STEP 1: I always start off with my eyebrows when doing my makeup, I find my eyebrows take the longest amount of time so I get them out the way early. I used my Music Flower Eyebrow Gel in black to outline and fill in my brows. I then used my MAC Studio Finish Concealer in NW40 to clean up my eyebrows and make them stand out.

STEP 2: I then took the orange colour from my Freedom Pro Correct Palette and applied it to my under eye area in order to reduce any discolouration and redness. After blending out my concealer (so I don't look like a clown) I applied my MAC Studio Sculpt Foundation in NW45 to my entire face and neck.

STEP 3: From my Freedom Black Arts Pro Palette I applied the black eyeshadow to my eyelids and then applied to gold eyeshadow on top. I then blended the two together and applied black Sleek Eyeliner to my lower lash line.

STEP 4: My favourite step! Highlighting and contouring! I love highlighting and contouring because it can really change your look. I used a triangular sponge to apply my Ben Nye Luxury Banana Powder to my under eye area, along with on my jaw line and the bridge of my nose. I then applied my Ben Nye Luxury Dark Cocoa Powder just underneath my cheekbones in order for them to look higher and more defined and on the sides of my nose to make it look smaller. After applying all this powder to my face I did look a hot mess, however after blending, everything came together.

STEP 5: After applying a lot of makeup, my face can look very lifeless which is why I love blush because it brings the colour right back to you! I applied my Sleek Blush in Sahara to the apples of my cheeks to brighten up my face! I then took my Miss Sporty Fabulous Lash Mascara and piled it on (I'm seriously a mascara junkie so you don't need to apply as many layers as I do, lol).

STEP 6: Lips! This is always my final and second favourite step. Putting lipstick or gloss on really completes the look and brings everything all together. For this makeup look I used my MAC Vivid Glam I Lipstick, topped with my Freedom Pro Butters Lipgloss in TGIF
I then sprayed a couple of sprays of my Makeup Revolutions Oil Control Fixing Spray and wollah my makeup look was complete.
I absolutely loved this makeup look and creating it. Red lips is definitely a favourite for me as it's very bold and "stand out-ish" and I just love dark eyes so this is definitely one of my favourite makeup looks of my own!

What do you think? Let me know!
xoxo
